Our Story

As a woman who has been wearing sizes 11/12 since the age of 12, I always struggled when I went shopping for shoes. I always left stores disappointed because the shoes I found were never as stylish, comfortable, or had the same quality as the shoes for smaller sizes. I just wanted all-day wear shoes that fit my feet, without having to compromise my style or comfort. My shoe size became a deep insecurity for me, and I often asked God why He created me with such a unique feature. Over time, I received vision from Him to create a business to help bridge the gap in the shoe industry for millions of women like myself who have similar difficulties. A business who predominantly produces extended size lifestyle shoes that are fashionable and well-fitted.

The vision God gave me to begin this business was also coupled with a vision for it to remind women that the Lord knew them before He formed them, they are created perfectly in His image, and He wondrously made them without mistake. (Jeremiah 1:5, Genesis 1:27, Psalms 139:13-15). My prayer is that Arete Shoe Co. can be the solution that women with larger shoe sizes need to find shoes that they can wear anywhere, fits their style, and that they can feel confident in. My prayer is also to inspire women to become like the Proverbs 31 woman. A woman who delights in obeying the Lord, balances working hard and creating a home for her family, is kind and generous, and has a heart that reflects the love of God (Proverbs 31:10-31).
